Square Enix disabled free trial accounts back in early December after the launch of Endwalker due to the high server congestion. Ever since the great boom FFXIV experienced back in June, players on the free trial had difficulty getting into the game. But now that the bulk of players is done with the most recent adventure. Eorzea opens her gates once more for the next generation of adventurers.
The loving community will soon once more annoy the hell out of everyone who hasn't tired the game yet. That infamous copypasta is a thing after all, and its here to stay.
