Winterfest 2022 has hit Fortnite! This is all of the changes and rewards for players.

Winterfest is one of the most fun times in Fortnite. It might not have huge tournaments like the FNCS Invitationals but there’s loads to do in-game and plenty of presents for players. The FNCS Winterfest 2022 is kicking off now, having gotten added in with the Fortnite V23.10 Patch!

The Winterfest update might be coming just as Fortnite Chapter 4 starts. However, there’s still plenty of new content. There are map changes, new special items, and free cosmetics. If you want to do everything, you’ll have to make sure you’re staying on top of the game and opening up each day’s present. That’s alongside completing the Fortnite x MrBeast challenges currently active.

This is everything that’s come with the Fortnite Winterfest 2022 and what presents you can open across the tournaments.

New Items for Fortnite Winterfest 2022

The Winterfest 2022 presents are fun but the biggest change to the game comes with the items they bring back. In the past, we’ve gotten planes in the games which were kind of a mess. This time it’s a bit more balanced. These are all of the new and returning features for Fortnite Winterfest 2022.

Snowball Launchers

These are a common feature of Winter for Fortnite. These will fire out explosive snowballs! They're a fun item but not crazy overpowered or anything. They might be fun to use for a little while though, to mix things up.

Holiday Presents

These presents are the same as those you see at Fortnite's anniversary! They are throwable items. They then create a 1×1 present. You can find high-level loot inside. These can be a massive help in looting up in games. Players can come out of spots with great loot if they make use of them.

The presents will be around all through Winterfest 2022. Make sure you’re making use of them if you’re playing. You can find guns and loads of meds in the presents. Although, be aware they’re also kind of hard to miss. Players will be easily able to see that you’re looting in the present, and it can draw attention.

Map Changes in Winterfest 2022

Winterfest 2022 has a few changes to the new Fortnite Chapter 4 map. There isn’t a huge new POI considering it’s still a brand-new map. Although, players will be able to find the Christmas house making its return. There’s also a few other minor change and Christmas trees spread around.

The Winterfest Presents

At the center of each Fortnite Winterfest, is the presents. You get a new one each day for 14 days. Over the 14 days, you’re going to get 17 in total! That’s a decent number of free cosmetics. It’s even a rare chance to get two free Fortnite skins.

You can unlock the presents by hopping into the lodge. This is a limited-time banner on the main menu for Fortnite. Players can scroll over, and they’ll find all of the presents laid out. There’s going to be a Guff and another character in the lodge to keep you company. These are all of the Witnerfest presents:

If you miss a day to open presents, you can catch up. Just get onto the tab in one of the days before Winterfest 2022 ends and open the presents up then. You can even do them all at once if you want, or space them out.

How to Get the Free Skins in Fortnite Winterfest 2022

That’s what all of the presents are, but you can’t grab the skins right away. There are so many presents open you can’t access all of them at first. To get to the free Winterfest skins, you’ll need to get through some of the others.

How to Get the Third Winterfest 2022 Free Skin

Alongside the other free skins for playing through the presents, there’s one more bonus you can grab at the moment. This is the Guff Gringle outfit. It’s another color variation on Gruff, just like the free skin for Winterfest 2022. To unlock this, you’ll have to log-in in a specific way though.

Players will need to log into the Epic Games Launcher and launch Fortnite from there. Then, they can navigate to the item shop and get Gruff for free. This is available through to January 3 2023. Make sure you grab him in time if you want to get every free skin.

When is Winterfest Ending?

Winterfest 2022 is going to be running for a few weeks. It’s starting up on December 13, and ending on January 3. You’re going to only have this brief time to unlock all of the presents and play through the content. If you want to unlock everything, you’ll need to get through it before the time runs out. That’s a decent run of time. Most players should be able to grab everything. You can also hop in January and open the presents up all at once!

Fortnite is rammed at the moment. Between the Winterfest 2022 event, Mr Beast, and the My Hero Academia crossover, players aren’t going to be short on things to play through December.
