The Best Landing Spots in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2

These are the best landing spots in Fortnite Chapter 4 season 2, the top places to drop in every game.

The new season of Fortnite means big changes to weapons, what’s unvaulted, and brand-new features, but what about the map? The best landing spots in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 are quite a bit different to last season. We’ve had major changes to the map. There are more POIs including one of the biggest locales we’ve ever seen in Fortnite! Deciding where to drop can be tricky though.

Now that the map has more than the bare minimum on it you can afford to be a bit more selective in where you land. No more making a pick between a single handful of POIs that are on your bus route. Now you can probably have a few different drops across the map. One thing to keep in mind though is that half the map has problems in builds with a lack of metal. If you’re in Zero Builds or willing to work a bit harder to get all your mats though, there are some great landing spots in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2

We’re going to run through the best landing spots in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2’s map. Between these spots, there’s a pick for anyone who is looking for a hot drop or a quieter start to the game. These are the best landing spots in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2.

Best Landing Spots in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2

Mega City

Best Landing Spots in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2

Mega City is by far the biggest new addition to the game’s map. It’s a huge POI, a full city. It’s going to be the center point for the next few weeks of action. This POI has more going for it than pretty much any of the big additions we’ve seen recently.

For a start, there’s the raw amount of chest spawns that are available here. This POI has more of them than multiple named locations in past areas. Anywhere you land you’re going to have access to enough loot to get yourself kitted up over the course of the opening round.

One thing to keep in mind with Mega City though is that part of it is a facade. While there’s still loads of buildings, they’re not all accessible. Bits of them are actually hollow. You can’t access all of the floors and you can’t destroy the outside walls to get in. Even with this in mind though, this is probably our biggest POI for loot ever. It’s spread among an entire city, but it’s enough to kit up loads of squads.

Mega City is also home to one of the characters and their unique vault with exotic locations inside. You’ll have to wait through the opening storm circles for them to rift in, but you’ll be guaranteed one of this season’s mythics if you can hang around and take out the boss.

The last part that makes this one of the best Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 landing spots is pure rotation. There are grind rails, updrafts, and even launchpads for you to get going to your next POI.

Shattered Slabs

Best Landing Spots in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2

Shattered Slabs haven’t changed since last season but there’s a reason it’s gotten a bit more viable. This is now home to a boss and a vault. This makes it a much better Fortnite Chapter 4 landing spot in Season 2!

Shattered Slabs main appeal is to get inside the vault for its mythic and high-level weapons. Although, there’s still a good bit of loot spread around the POI too. This spot isn’t going to be that busy, especially considering it’s a named location with a vault. The POI remains pretty unpopular, especially considering the lack of metal in this area for builds.

There are a few downsides to Slattered Slabs. It isn’t the most loot dense and doesn’t have anything special for rotation. Although, there’s also a lot to like. It’s one of the best landing spots in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2.

Kenjiutsu Crossing

Best Landing Spots in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2

This is another one of the best landing spots in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 that’s in the Japan biome. This area is more of a residential place. It has multiple houses all with loads of loot. There are even free-standing guaranteed spawns for the sword, one of the most OP weapons of the Chapter.

This area has hot springs nearby which can help keep your HP up as you’re fighting it out. This is a more popular landing spot since it’s in the new biome and that brings access to the katana. However, since it’s a lot smaller than Mega City you’re definitely going to have a few fights when you land here. Players should be prepared for early game action or head somewhere else if you want a purely safe start to your game.

Lonely Labs

Best Landing Spots in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2

Lonely Labs is another POI that hasn’t seen big changes from the first season of Chapter 4. It’s a bit out of the way on the very edge of the map. It‘s also got fewer buildings than other big named POIs. So why is it still one of the best Fortnite Chapter 4 season 2 landing spots? It’s got some unique selling points.

To say that the red buildings are relatively small, you’re going to be able to find a lot of chests and loot here. It’s one of the denser POIs since players aren’t searching through multiple-story buildings. There are also some NPCs to hire, campfires, and it’s easy to rotate out of. Once you get to the bastion outposts you start to get jumppads and becomes easy to get away to the next circle. Lonely Labs has a lot to offer. It’s one of the better named POIs if you want to get a big area full of loot without a ridiculous number of sweats.

Brutal Bastion

Best Landing Spots in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2

The other named POI in the snow biome is Brutal Bastion. This is a huge area that’s had a few changes since last season. It’s another spot that provides access to a vault and the best weapons of the season. It’s one of only a few places to grab a Mythic Pump, which already makes it one of the best landing spots in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2.

Beyond that though, there’s plenty more to like here. There is loads of loot. Plenty of squads can drop here without having any problems. You might have a few fights but there is still plenty of loot to go around.

When you’re rotating away here there are multiple launchpads which helps you get just about anywhere on the map once you’re ready to leave. This is a quieter POI in Chapter 4 Season 2. You’re not going to have to fight off anywhere near as many people as last season. For some reason people are sleeping on the ice biome now we’ve got more exciting new spots on the other half of the map.

Gas Station/Tower

This is a non-named POI but it’s still worth looking at as one of the best landing spots in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2. It’s an area which features a large tower, in the rough center of the map just to the southeast of the center. You don’t have the oathbound chests of last season. Between the tower and surrounding buildings though there’s a decent number of chest spawns. It also has enough slurp, coolers, and produce boxes to usually guarantee a full shield at the start of the match.

Once you’re done in this spot, you could head down the hill over to the gas station. It’s not as good as launchpads, but it's still got decent rotation compared to a lot of different areas. Since this is a relatively central spot, you’re not going to need to rotate very far to get out of here.

One other bonus of heading to a non-named POI is that you’re getting a quieter start. If you have a crown and don’t fancy a rough fight with floor loot, it’s pretty unlikely here. If you happen on the key augment you can likely get some decent loot from the multiple holo-chest spawns here too.

Island in South of Island

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 - Island

This island is another pick for the best landing spots in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 which won’t be a rough fight. A lot of people have become more familiar with this spot thanks to a recent quest. It’s got more going for it than you might expect at first glance. There are decent chest spawns in the buildings, and then a spot just on the beach with a really surprising amount of loot.

This island has a spot which randomly features four separate chest spawns.  This is a huge spot to say how very minor this island is on the map. It’s a great spot to drop down on for a quieter start but still be able to confidently walk away with loot for the game.

Those are the best landing spots in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2. Among these, there are plenty of picks for any type of player. There’s a spot for those looking for early fights and guaranteed vaults. Although, there are also plenty of smaller spots if you just want to have a quieter start without having to fight for your life from the moment you leave the battle bus. Keep an eye on Fortnite news though as there are good reasons to think the balance of power on the map could change over the coming months with more patches.
