Boston Breach vs Toronto Ultra Preview and Predictions: Call of Duty League 2023 Stage 4 Major

Stage 3 Major Winners Toronto Ultra have fallen apart in the Stage 4 Qualifiers, so if they want to defend their title, they must get through the Lower Bracket of the Major.

Only 4 teams remain on the Upper Bracket of the 2023 CDL Stage 4 Major after the last round, and today, we’ll say goodbye to 4 teams of the Lower Bracket. The first Elimination Round starts off with Las Vegas Legion vs Florida Mutineers and ends with the clash between Boston Breach and Toronto Ultra.

Boston Breach vs Toronto Ultra Preview

Boston Breach

Surprising as it is, Boston Breach are still the higher seed in this matchup, thanks to their performance in the Stage 4 Qualifiers. Even though they were beaten by Las Vegas Legion, OpTic Texas and New York Subliners, they got the best of London Royal Ravens and Toronto Ultra, who should be more eager for a rematch against Dylan “Nero” Koch and his team.

While Breach had an okay performance in the Qualifiers, they couldn’t win their first match of the Upper Bracket against OpTic Texas. After losing the Mercado Hardpoint 250-164, they managed to surprise the Texans on Embassy, beating them 6-3 in the SnD round. Uncharacteristically for them, however, they lost the Hotel Control by just one point, even though that gamemode is their best according to stats site Breaking Point.GG. After that, they couldn’t win the second Hardpoint, losing the series 1-3.

Toronto Ultra

So now, they must face the Champions of the Call of Duty League Stage 3 Major, who somehow couldn’t qualify for the Winner’s Bracket. Toronto Ultra have only won 1 of their 5 games in the Stage 4 Qualifiers, which is surprising to say the least. Charlie “Hicksy” Hicks and his teammates lost to Atlanta FaZe, Seattle Surge and Las Vegas Legion alongside Boston Breach, but thankfully they dominated Florida Mutineers with a 3-0 victory.

All their losses went to the 5th game of the Bo5, so I can’t say that they gave an easy time to anyone they faced but failing to seal the deal after 4 hard-fought Call of Duty matches stings more than getting blown out of the water without securing a single win – especially after proving everyone that you’re one of the best teams in the League.

Boston Breach vs Toronto Ultra Predictions

While Toronto Ultra has it in them to win a Major, Boston Breach might just be their kryptonite. Out of the three occasions that they played against each other, Breach has won 2, beating them 3-1 in the Stage 3 Major Qualifiers, and 3-2 in the first half of Stage 4. That, alongside a better track record on both Search and Destroy and Control gives Breach the edge – but you can never count out the Kings in the North, especially with their 33-23 Hardpoint scorline.
