Can the strongest team of the Qualifiers, OpTic Texas seal the deal, and make it to the Winner’s Final of Major IV of the CDL?
The 4th Major of the 2023 Call of Duty League just began, but the 4 teams of the Winner’s Bracket are already playing their second matches to decide which 2 teams will proceed to the last match of the bracket: OpTic Texas, Atlanta FaZe, New York Subliners or Los Angeles Thieves?

Brandon “Dashy” Otell and his teammates were the absolute best of the Stage 4 Major Qualifiers, as they were the only ones to beat each and every one of their opponents: they 3-0-d London Royal Ravens, defeated 2022 Champions Los Angeles Thieves, and won against Los Angeles Guerrillas and Boston Breach as well – and to top it all off they only let New York Subliners take 1 match against them in Week 2 of the Qualifiers.
They doubled down against Breach in the first round of the Upper Bracket, beating them 3-1, forcing them to compete in the Lower Bracket. While the newest team of the Call of Duty League have won the Embassy SnD and gave OpTic a run for their money on the Hotel Control, but ultimately couldn’t deal with one of the strongest in Hardpoints.
New York Subliners
But OpTic’s next opponent, NYSL are a bit more adept in terms of Hardpoint, so it won’t be as easy to beat them. The winners of the Stage 1 Major have ranked fairly high in the Stage 4 Qualifiers, finishing in 5th place and only dropping one match in the 3 weeks leading up to the Major. Sadly, that loss was against OpTic Texas, against whom they only found success in the Hotel Search and Destroy.
Nevertheless, they beat Minnesota RØKKR, London Royal Ravens, Boston Breach and Atlanta FaZe in the qualifiers, then went on to blow Las Vegas Legion out of the water with a 3-0 victory. But it was not enough for Cesar “Skyz” Bueno to beat LVL without letting them score, they didn’t even let them win a round on either El Asilo Search and Destroy or El Asilo Control, which shows just how dominant the squad can get if they are in form.
OpTic Texas vs New York Subliners Predictions
Two extremely strong teams, but only one of them can stay in the Winner’s Bracket. New York Subliners beat OpTic Texas 3-0 in the Stage 3 Major Qualifiers, and in return, Dashy and co. defeated them 3-1 in the first half of Stage 4. That being said, the whole of OpTic Texas is doing amazing stats wise according to BreakingPoint.gg: all players were above 20 Kills per 10 Minute in the Stage 4 Qualifiers, and only Cuyler “Huke” Garland slowed down against Breach. If OpTic keeps an eye out for Paco “HyDra” Rusiewiez, the current best player of NYSL, they should be able to get the W.
