Astralis faced a 9INE side that boasted a 16-map winning run in the semifinals. 9INE have been unstoppable on Vertigo lately and they seemed destined to open with another Vertigo as they raced to 13 points. Cloud9 and OG’s battle dragged on for more than four hours as both teams gave their best to make it to the grand final. The Russians came up trumps on the decisive Ancient map in overtime to settle the tie. OG had put the pressure on Cloud9 earlier on as they grinded out an overtime win on Inferno. Things seemed to have taken a turn for the worse for the Russians as Abay “HObbit” Khassenov had to come off before the Overpass map, but Timofey “interz” Yakushin proved to be a worthy replacement and helped his side to a 16-11 win.
