G2 and The MongolZ will share the stage for the first time in a bid to start their respective Paris Major 2023 campaigns with a win. TheMongolZ have been scrapping for good results against teams from other regions lately, but they will try to reverse that trend in France. G2 missed out on a Paris Major Legends Stage spot after failing to beat Vitality in the European RMR B fifth-place decider,  but most fans who bet on CSGO, will feel comfortable backing the Germans as the favorites in this tie.

G2 were in contention for a Legends Stage berth after they beat Cloud9 2-0 in the European RMR B Swiss Round 4. Vitality, however, had other plans. G2 fought toe-to-toe with their French foes on the opening map on Mirage, but they narrowly fell short in a 16-13 affair. Vitality coasted to victory on Anubis on the following map and forced G2 to stay content with a Challengers Stage spot.
