“What’s The Worst Patch 7.33 Change?” Berlin Major 2023 Stars Have Their Say

Artour “Arteezy” Babaev, Nuengnara “23savage” Teeramahanon, and Tommy “Taiga” Le and other Berlin Major stars share their least favorite patch 7.33 changes

The Berlin Major is heating up with 18 of the world's best teams battling it out for a slice of the $500,000 prize money and 2700 DPC points pie. In a recent segment, we got the inside scoop from some of the pro players playing in Berlin on what they disliked about the latest patch changes in 7.33. Check out what Artour “Arteezy” Babaev, Nuengnara “23savage” Teeramahanon, Tommy “Taiga” Le, and others had to say.

What’s The Worst Patch 7.33 Change?

Arteezy from Shopify Rebellion was the first to weigh in on his least favorite change in the new patch, and he's not too thrilled about the changes to the BKB (Black King Bar).

“Least favorite change of the patch? I think the BKB change is very silly.  I really don't like the change, I think it makes no sense. I also don't like the fact that the heroes have not changed that much, I think. But maybe we're gonna get last place at the tournament and I'll be wrong but who knows? My impression with the pub games I play is that every hero is still the same except maybe Chen.”

Talon Esports carry 23savage also shared his two cents on the new changes, revealing that the Roshan changes were a hard nut to crack.

“My least favorite change in the patch is Roshan because I cannot remember the Roshan spot during day or night”

23 savage’s 9Pandas counterpart Roman “RAMZES666” Kushnarev did not single out any particular change, but he went on to say that there was an overwhelming amount of change in the new patch.

“Changes that I really don't like are kind of hard to say because you need to learn everything and you just play play and play. It's something like a new game because it's a lot of change.”

EG support player Jose “Panda” Hernandez did not hold back in expressing his dislike for two heroes.

“My least favorite change is that we are forced to play Enchantress and Chen right now.  There's nothing else to pick.”

Like RAMZES666, TSM’s support player Matthew “Ari” Walker also believes that the new patch brought too much change. He thinks it introduced too many objectives.

“I think maybe there are too many objectives. The lotuses (Lotus Pools) might be too much for example, if you have to play for the bounty rune and lotuses at the exact same time. and then one minute later you have to get the power rune. Maybe it's just too much in one go, it's a bit overwhelming for some people.”

OG’s support player Taiga is not happy with the Bloodstone, as he feels it has not been nerfed enough.

“My least favorite change in Dota I would probably say Bloodstone. It's still an imbalanced item, I don't think they have changed much about it. I think they nerfed it by like one second, the item is still OP (overpowered).”

Wu “Sneyking” Jingjun, who lifted the TI11 trophy with Tundra Esports, echoed Ari’s and RAMZES666’s concerns.

“The new objective and map changes are pretty overwhelming. There are a lot more new things to the game now than before, whereas tower and Roshan were the main objectives in map control. Nowadays there's these lotuses, there's the exp runes, bounty runes, and there's these twin gates and you're just everywhere. It's just crazy madness.”

Valve attempted to transform the Dota 2 landscape with the 7.33 patch. It has caused quite a stir in the Dota 2 community as the new changes have split opinions. The Berlin Major 2023 is the first Valve event to be played in the latest patch. The pros are trying their best to get used to the changes and exploit their opponent’s weaknesses. It will be intriguing to see how players tweak their strategies to thrive in the patch 7.33 era as the tournament progresses.
