What’s It Like Playing For OG? Hear It From MinD_ContRoL and Kitrak

Ivan “MinD_ContRoL” Ivanov and Kartik “Kitrak” Rathi, OG’s stand-in duo at the Berlin Major 2023, talked about their experience with the two-time TI champions

Despite having two stand-ins, OG have been putting up an impressive show in Group B at the ESL One Berlin Major 2023, and are definitely in the running for the upper-bracket playoffs. During a recent interview at the Major group stage venue, Ivan “MinD_ContRoL” Ivanov and Kartik “Kitrak” Rathi, OG’s stand-ins at the tournament, shared their experiences playing with the team. According to Kitrak, the team made him feel right at home and didn't treat him any differently even though he was playing with them for the first time. Meanwhile, MinD_ContRoL expressed his joy at finally being able to compete in a Major tournament after a long wait.

What Did MinD_ContRoL And Kitrak Say About Playing With OG? 

MinD_ContRoL did not have much to say, but the veteran offlaner did not forget to mention how happy he was to play in a Major again. 

“It’s very nice. I don’t play Major in a while. It feels good.”

Kitrak has quickly integrated himself into OG’s team dynamic, and he feels like he has been a member of the team for a long time. He has had an enjoyable experience at his first Major tournament as a professional Dota 2 player.

“Playing as a stand-in with OG has been super enjoyable so far. Everyone has been very accommodating. The team has been really helpful. I don’t feel like an outsider at all on this team which is really nice so yeah, I think it’s been super enjoyable so far.”

MinD_ContRoL and Kitrak sat down for the interview ahead of OG’s encounter with Invictus Gaming. They talked about their thoughts and preparations ahead of the highly-anticipated battle between the two sides. Kitrak revealed the team were yet to start their research on their next opponents, but he watched them play against Shopify Rebellion.

“The matchup against IG – we haven’t done any research on them yet. I imagine we’ll do our prep tonight. They look like a super solid team. I was watching some of their games against Shopify and they looked good so definitely going to be a tough match.”

While Invictus Gaming's performance has not been up to par lately, MinD_ContRoL was cautious and emphasized the importance of not underestimating the team, knowing that any team can pose a challenge in Dota 2.

“We will prepare probably later but I feel very confident. I feel very confident but I respect everyone anyways. If anyone underestimates someone, you lose actually. Never underestimate anyone.”

OG were in a favorable position to reach the upper-bracket playoffs. They still have good chance to make it to that stage, but they lost to Invictus, which did not help their cause.  OG still have two more matchups left in the competition, against beastcoast and Shopify Rebellion.
