Riot Announces a Stacked Line-Up for Their MSI 2023 Broadcast

We are one step closer to the main event with the MSI 2023 broadcast talent being revealed.

Casters, analysts and the rest of the broadcast crew have always been one of the most crucial parts of any esports event. Most legendary moments are made legendary with the help of the voices of commentators. Luckily for them and the fans, Riot doesn’t lack when it comes to their League of Legends broadcast talent. The on-air personnel tends to always be one of the most praised parts of any LoL event.

As we get close to the MSI 2023, Riot finally announced the voices that will bring the event to the audience. The tournament is set to start on May 2nd and will be held in London this year. Announced broadcast talent consists of twenty familiar faces from the LEC and LCS broadcasts, supplemented by LCK and LPL casters and commentators.

Some of the first notable names are Clayton “CaptainFlowers” Raines and Aaron “Medic” Chamberlain, two popular play-by-play casters who were absent in some of the previous tournaments as they took time off to focus on mental health. There are also two more additions to the roster with Frankie Ward and Yinsu Collins joining as player interviewers. Both are newer to the international LoL events, but they are experienced in other esports like CS:GO and VALORANT, and made guest appearances in multiple LEC broadcasts before.

Of course, there are some names fans were looking forward to seeing at the event, but are missing from the list. A common sentiment online among fans is that Riot tends to favor LCS and LEC talent, which snubs some of the LPL and LCK casters. Brendan “Valdes” Valdes and Jake “Hysterics” Osypenko are two veteran broadcasters fans wanted to see, but won’t get the chance at MSI 2023.

James “Dash” Patterson is another name missing from the broadcast. Dash has been a mainstay of LCS and international events since 2015, but he was let go from the LCS at the start of the 2023 Season in a controversial move from Riot. MSI 2023’s analyst desk will be the first one Dash is not hosting since 2015.
