Global Esports Sweat Over Visa Issues Days Before VCT Pacific League

The sole representative of South Asia in the upcoming 2023 VCT Pacific, Global Esports, are facing visa issues for their Indian players ahead of the international league.
VCT 2023: Pacific League is scheduled to begin on March 25, with the 10 franchised teams competing against each other to qualify for the Masters and Champions tournament. Global Esports start their tournament on the opening day as they go up against T1. However, the Indian org seems to have uncertainty regarding the roster as their star player and the face of SA Valorant, Ganesh “SkRossi” Gangadhar, is yet to receive his visa along with his fellow Indian teammate, Abhirup “Lightningfast” Choudhury.

The founder of Global Esports, Rushindra Sinha, took to Twitter last night and updated the fans regarding the issue. According to Sinha, Every non-Indian passport holder from the team is already in Seoul, Korea. As for the Indians on the team, their visas are still under process, with no confirmation of the possible date for receiving them.
“Indian passport holder visas are currently still under process – as soon as we get passports back we will fly (Rossi, Golu [Lightningfast], Vatsal & Me). That could be tomorrow or [the] day after or next Monday or in April,” stated Sinha.

Later, SkRossi also confirmed this dire turn of events. The 25-year-old tweeted that he would be missing the tournament’s first game. He then went on to urge the fans to stay patient and not spread any negativity.
“Our challenges as a region are beyond the game, but we will keep fighting as always. Remember toxicity won’t help our case, it will only make it more difficult for us as a region,” Rossi said to explain the current situation.

Call it luck or whatever, but the fact that Global Esports fielded a 7-man roster for the 2023 VCT season is about to be of immense help to the team. Of the 7 players, only two were Indian, so the rest of the members arrived in Seoul without any issues. The team is led by former XSET IGL, Jordan “AYRIN” He. AYRIN is joined by a crop of young and talented players. Although Global Esports will be a force to be reckoned with despite all the issues, it will be interesting to see how the team performs on the international stage without their Indian duo.
