Epic Games Store 15 Days of Free Games Event: Day 15

Everyone loves free games, and the Epic Games Store has been earning a lot of love this year.

Throughout 2022, gamers have been able to snag some awesome games off the Epic Games Store for free. Some of the best freebie games of 2022 include the Bioshock Collection, Borderlands 3, Wolfenstein: The New Order, Fallout 3, Doom 64, and Ark: Survival Evolved.

With 2023 2 weeks away, everyone is preparing for or has already kicked off their year-end Winter sales. But Epic Games isn't going to say goodbye to 2022 without one final giveaway. Or giveaways.

Last year, from December 16 to December 30, the Epic Games Store gave out 15 free games, one for each day. Epic Games has yet to officially come out and say they will be repeating this Christmas festivity this year, but there is a countdown timer ticking off in the free games section of the Epic Games Store. And the link in their Twitter bio also goes directly to the free games section.

I think it's safe to say more free games are incoming.

Whatever the Epic Games Store has in store for us for the final two weeks of 2022, it kicks off at 11 AM EST. If the giveaway (s) will be like last year, you'll have one day to claim whatever free game they drop. We'll keep you posted in real-time.

In the meantime, you still have a few hours to claim free copies of Saints Row IV Re-Elected and Wildcat Gun Machine if you didn't grab them already.

Day 1: Bloons TD 6

The rumors were true! The Epic Games Store 15 Days of Free Games Event is back. And if what's on offer is even half as good as the free game lineup last year, you don't want to miss this!

Day 1 of 15 Days of Free Games is live, and the first free title is Bloons TD 6. Published and developed by Ninja Kiwi, Bloons TD 6 is a Tower Defense title with an Angry Birds/Clash of Clans-esque aesthetic.

Remember that you have 24 hours on any given day to claim the free game of that day. The event resets at 11 AM EST.

Day 2: Horizon Chase Turbo

Day 2 of the Epic Games Store 15 Days of Free Games Event is here, and Epic Games is putting the giveaway into overdrive.

The free game of the day is Horizon Chase Turbo. Inspired by classic racing titles from the late 80s and early 90s, like Outrun and Top Gear, Horizon Chase Turbo is a simplistic but fun multiplayer racing experience. And for one day only, available for 0 dollars and 0 cents.

See you all back here at 11 AM EST sharp for the next freebie!

Day 3: Costume Quest 2

The third free game from the Epic Games Store 15 Days of Free Games Event is a few weeks later. Thematically speaking, that is.

Today's free game is Costume Quest 2. In a world where Halloween no longer exists, it's up to you to travel through time and restore the world's favorite spooky holiday to the way it should be.

The various Halloween costumes are the source of your powers, transforming you into a different Hallo-warrior with different abilities. Use them wisely to take down your foes in classic turn-based combat.

Costume Quest 2 isn't a game that takes itself too seriously, but it's a fun little Halloween romp for gamers of all ages. Get it for free today!

Day 4: Sable

The fourth free game of the Epic Games Store Free Game Holiday Giveaway is looking like the most interesting one yet!

Today's free game is Sable, an open-world adventure game with an almost storybook art style and a beautiful soundtrack that does well to add to the ambiance.

Indie game lovers will enjoy this one.

Day 5: Them's Fightin' Herds

Put your dukes up. Or rather, put your hooves up.

The free game of Day 5 of the Epic Games Store Free Game Holiday Giveaway is Them's Fightin' Herds (A play on the saying “Them's Fightin' Words').

Imagine if the My Little Ponies all hated each other and started fighting. That's basically the gist of it. No, really; Lauren Faust, creator of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is behind the design of Them's Fightin' Herds.

With an art style similar to Skullgirls (It uses the same engine), this game gained more attention after the developers ported it to consoles. It's a fighting game to keep an eye on. And a game to get for free right now.

Day 6: Wolfenstein: The New Order

The sixth free game from the Epic Game Store Free Game Holiday Giveaway is the most eye-catching freebie yet. But for some, it might be a little disappointing (Not that you can complain about freebies).

Today's free game is Wolfenstein: The New Order. The New Order is the seventh main entry in the Wolfenstein series and the first modern entry. I couldn't tell you that modern Wolfenstein has the best plot in gaming, but strictly from a shooting perspective, these games are a blast (Pun intended).

You definitely don't want to miss picking this one up. Unfortunately, Wolfenstein: The New Order was available for free during the first week of June this year, so many will already have it. But for those who don't snatch it up.

Day 7: LEGO Builder's Journey

Today's free game is sure to make you put on your thinking cap. But in a good way.

Few video game franchises are as safe as LEGOS. For the most part, their pure, unbridled fun that gamers of all ages can enjoy. But the 7th free game of the Epic Game Store Free Game Holiday Giveaway may be more of an acquired taste for once.

Today's free game is LEGO Builder's Journey. Likely the favored game of Bob the Builder and Fix-It Felix, LEGO Builder's Journey is a geometric puzzle-solving game. The usual cartoony LEGO graphics are gone in favor of a more realistic look. Use your brain to solve various puzzles as you make your way through this Builder's Journey.

There's also a Creative Mode which allows players to build their own LEGO models. You can also take pictures and share them with friends.

Day 8: Fallout 1, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics

Today is a great day to be a Fallout fan, especially if you're willing to take a trip or two down radioactive memory lane.

For Day 8 of the Epic Game Store Free Game Holiday Giveaway, Fallout 1, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics are all free.

These giveaways serve as the perfect sendoff for the Fallout franchise for 2022. Earlier this year, Epic Games gave out Fallout 3 for free. Amazon Prime gave out Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 76 for free a few months back. You can't complain about owning most of the Fallout franchise for the total cost of $0.

Fallout 1 and 2 are some of the greatest RPGs of all time and must-plays for any self-proclaimed RPG lover. The Temple of Trials still has a mixed reception, but I can only shower praise on Fallout 1 and 2.

And let's not forget Fallout Tactics. Fallout Tactics probably gets the least attention out of any of the older Fallout games. Fallout 1 and 2 are beloved, and Fallout Brotherhood of Steel gets the wrong kind of attention. If you like tactical RPGs, Fallout Tactics can scratch that itch for you.

For me, today is the best giveaway so far. I'm looking forward to seeing what Epic Games gives us next!

Day 9: Encased

Epic Games is keeping the RPG train rolling with the ninth free game of the Epic Game Store Free Game Holiday Giveaway! The ninth freebie is the tactical, isometric RPG, Encased.

Set in an alternative sci-fi-themed 1970s time period, you take on the role of an employee for CRONUS Corporation. You'll experience the world before and after a disaster turns it into a wasteland. From there, it's up to you who you team up with and with who you make enemies.

With plenty of different options for resolving quests and a respectable level of character customization, Encased will have you enamored with the game world for quite a while. Player choice is the name of the game here, and Encased has a lot of it.

Day 10: Metro Last Light Redux

Epic Games seems to be on a post-apocalyptic giveaway streak.

On Day 8, Epic Games Store gave away Fallout 1, 2, and Tactics. Yesterday, they gave away Encased. And today, the free game of the day is yet another set in a post-apocalyptic world: Metro Last Light Redux.

Metro Last Light Redux is the Definitive Edition of Metro Last Light and the second game in the Metro trilogy (Widely considered to be the best of the three).

I'm detecting a happy pattern with Epic Games and the Metro series. Last year, Epic Games also gave away Metro Last Light Redux for free. And in 2019 and 2020, they gave away Metro 2033 Redux for free.

Metro Exodus freebie in 2023-2024? I guess we'll have to wait and see. In the meantime, enjoy Last Light.

Day 11: Death Stranding Director's Cut

Merry Christmas, everyone!

I am sure many of you are very busy today with holiday festivities, but today's giveaway is one you don't want to miss!

The 11th free game from the Epic Game Store Free Game Holiday Giveaway is the biggest one yet: the Director's Cut Edition of Death Stranding!

Or at least it should be.

Currently, the Epic Games Store is having some issues. Death Stranding isn't showing up as free for many trying to claim it, instead coming up as 40% off. For others, it shows up as free, but the cart never loads, so you can't actually get it. More than that, trying to claim it logs you out of Epic Games Store and you can't close the window or try to log back in. Yikes.

Leave it to Hideo Kojima to make people work on Christmas Day. But with Death Stranding 2 confirmed, there's no better time to catch up on the first installment.

Try to pop into the Epic Games Store throughout the day to see if you can get it. Epic Games is aware of the issues and are currently working on it. You have until 11 AM EST tomorrow, so there's plenty of time.

Update: It turns out that Epic Games only meant to give away the Base Edition of Death Stranding, not the Director's Cut.

If you're still having trouble, try claiming the game via browser instead of the Epic Games client itself.

Day 12: F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch

We hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas. Christmas Day may be over, but the season of giving isn't.

It will be hard to top a free copy of Death Stranding, but Epic Games still has a few solid gems up its' sleeves. The 12th free game from the Epic Game Store Free Game Holiday Giveaway Event is F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch.

Forged In Shadow Torch is a Metroidvania-style game where you take control of Rayton, a former resistance soldier. Using your three combat styles, the Fist, the Whip, and the Drill, you'll take the fight to the oppressive Machine Legion, which colonized your city.

With a fantastic dieselpunk aesthetic and dozens of areas to explore, Forged In Shadow Torch will be a treat for any fan of the Metroidvania genre.

Day 13: Severed Steel

What happens when you dial Mirror's Edge up to 11 and turn it into an FPS? You get today's free game: Severed Steel.

Severed Steel is a fast-paced FPS with Bullet Time, constant platforming, destructible environments, and non-stop action. The hyper-stylized graphics and funky tunes make this game as fun to listen to and watch as it is to play. Speedruns of this game will probably be a blast.

We're in the home stretch of the Epic Game Store Free Game Holiday Giveaway Event. Let's hope Epic Games have a few smash hits left.

Day 14: Mortal Shell

Day 14 of the Epic Game Store Free Game Holiday Giveaway Event is here, and with it comes a new free game! Today's free is Mortal Shell.

Mortal Shell is an indie action RPG that fans of RPG franchises like Gothic or Risen are sure to love. The combat is unforgiving, and blindly walking into combat situations will likely result in your death. Overcoming foes will require a bit of strategy and exploitation of enemy weak points.

The game has plenty of different combat styles to experiment with as you figure out which mortal shell is your favorite. And did I mention the game is pretty darn beautiful?

T-1 day until the grand finale of this year's holiday giveaway. We'll see you back here at 11 AM tomorrow!

Day 15: Dishonored – Definitive Edition & Eximius: Seize the Frontline

All good things must come to an end. Today, we've finally reached the end of the 2022 Epic Game Store Free Game Holiday Giveaway Event.

Epic Games is sending the event off with a bang by delivering two freebies on Day 15: Dishonored – Definitive Edition and Eximius: Seize the Frontline.

Widely considered one of the best games of its generation and of all time, Dishonored is a stealth-heavy action-adventure game that needs little introduction. It's fantastic, so you should play it. And thanks to Epic Games, you can do just that. If you have Amazon Prime, you can pick up Dishonored 2 for free right now as well.

Eximius: Seize the Frontline is a squad-based game that blends FPS and RTS gameplay elements to deliver a mix of strategy and fast-paced action.

Both games are available to claim until January 5, which coincides with the end date to claim the rest of the holiday freebies Epic Games is giving out. Epic Games has also revealed the first free games of 2023, Kerbal Space Program and Shadow Tactics – Aiko's Choice. Those will be available from January 5 to January 12.

It's been a good year Epic Games. We'll see you in 2023.
