Dota 2: Patch 7.33 Hero Changes – The New Frontiers Update

Here are some of the hottest hero changes after the arrival of The New Frontiers Update.

The much-awaited Dota 2 patch 7.33 is here, and it changed the game as we know it. There are all sorts of new things players have to keep an eye on, such as the new matchmaking systems, items, and many other things.

Like all new patches, 7.33 also includes all sorts of hero changes. Considering this is the biggest update in a while, we have some ground-breaking news, such as a new hero attribute and more.

Almost all Dota 2 heroes received changes following The New Frontiers Update, so let’s learn more about the most important ones. You can check the full update list for more details about everything.

Muerta

Unsurprisingly, Muerta is one of the heroes in the Dota 2 patch 7.33 that received a lot of changes. The newest hero in the game was added to Captains Mode and we already had the chance to watch it in action at DreamLeague Season 19.

There are several new things about Muerta, such as the fact that she has an Aghanim Scepter and a Shard. Furthermore, all of her abilities got small tweaks, so let’s go through them.

  • Dead Shot

Dead Shot’s Fear Duration is down from 1/1.2/1.4/1.6s to 0.8/0.95/1.1/1.25s

  • The Calling

Muerta’s silence now lasts 1.5/2/2.5/3s instead of 2/2.5/3/3.5s Furthermore, the ability’s duration is now 7/8/9/10s instead of 10s.

  • Pierce the Veil

This ability can be upgraded by Aganim’s Shard. When that happens, it will grant 30% spell lifesteal while Pierce of the Veil is active. Furthermore, the hero will gain a 2% spell amp when she kills an enemy hero, or someone dies within 925 units near her.

  • Parting Shot

One of the new things in the Dota 2 patch 7.33 for Muerta is an ability called Parting Shot, which is only available if the hero gets an Aghanim’s Scepter. This ability allows the hero to shoot at the enemy’s soul, pushing ti 15 units away from it. During that time, the hero's body is stunned and has a 50% damage reduction.

Once the ability’s duration is over, the soul returns to the body and dispels negative debuffs and stuns. Interestingly, the soul will survive even if the hero dies. This ability does not deal damage to allied heroes, but Muerta can’t use it on herself. If she targets enemy heroes, she will deal 300 damage. The ability has a 45s cooldown and costs 250 mana.

Aside from everything, Muerta’s level 10 talent gives Dead Shot +80 instead of +100 damage.

Clinkz

Besides Muerta, Clinkz is also one of the heroes that received some changes after The New Frontiers Update. Starting with his base damage and STR, which are slightly higher than before, the hero also no longer has Searing Arrows. Here is an overview of everything new about him.

  • Strafe

Clinkz’s Strafe allows him and his Burning Skeleton Archers in 1200 AoE to gain attack speed for 3.5s The ability has a 30/25/20/15s cooldown and costs 75/80/85/90 mana. Interestingly, Strafe won’t break Clinkz’s invisibility.

  • Tar Bomb

One of the new abilities in the Dota 2 patch 7.33 for Clinkz is called Tar Bomb. When used, the hero throws a projectile that deals up to 100 damage on impact and allows the hero and his archers to attack a given target.

Aside from that, the area near the enemy hero is covered in tar, which means they will be slowed down by 25% and receive up to 45 extra damage from all attacks from Clinkz and his skeletons.

This effect will last for 2.5s after the enemy hero leaves the area, and it also affects buildings.

  • Death Pact

Another new ability from Clinkz is called Death Pact and has 1/1/2/2 charges and a 4s restore time. When used, it creates a Burning Skeleton Archer in place of a killed creep. This skeleton deals 20% damage and 25% less damage to buildings; enemy heroes can kill it after 3 attacks.

  • Skeleton Walk

This is Clinkz’s ultimate following The New Frontiers Update, and it allows him to gain bonus movement speed for up to 45s on level 3. The ult now costs 130 mana instead of 80 on level 3 and has an 18s cooldown. Furthermore, it summons 2/3/4 Burning Skeleton Archers.

  • Burning Barrage

One of Clinkz’s new abilities is available after the hero gets an Aghanim’s Shard. It has a 22s cooldown and allows the hero to deal bonus damage to enemies under the effect of the Tar Bomb slow.

Besides all the ability changes, Clinkz has tons of talent tweaks.

Arc Warden

One of the forgotten mid-lane dominators also got a lot of changes after the Dota 2 Patch 7.33 that became available a few days ago. The biggest change is that all of the Tempest Double’s abilities are replaced with “Tempest” version of those skills.

Aside from that, Arc Warden’s abilities and talents got slightly tweaked. For example, Flux’s tempest version deals higher damage but doesn’t slow as much. Spark Wraith’s tempest variation has a shorter activation delay, a lower slow but higher damage.

Ogre Magi

One of the fan-favorite Dota 2 heroes also got a few intriguing changes after the arrival of The New Frontiers Update arrived. His Primary Attribute is now STR, and his STR gain is 4.2 instead of 3.3

Ogre now starts with 0 INT and will gain 0 int per level. However, his base mana is up from 75 to 120, and his base damage is down from 54-60 to 44-50. In terms of the changes to his abilities, here’s what’s new:

  • Dumb Luck

This new ability allows the hero to receive 6 points of maximum mana and 0.03 mana regen per one STR. 20 points of Strength will allow him to increase his multicast cast chance by 1%.

In addition to the new ability, Ogre’s Fireblast now stuns for 1.2s instead of 1.5s, and the same applies to his Unrefined Fireblast.

Medusa

The next hero that got a lot of changes in this Dota 2 patch 7.33 is Medusa. Her base STR and STR again are 0, but the hero’s INT gain is up to 3.7s from 3.4s. Naturally, there are a few important changes to her abilities:

  • Mystic Snake now costs less mana on levels 1,2 and 3, but the Scetper Stone Base Duration is down from 1.3s to 1s.
  • Mana Shield is a passive ability, and the hero starts with a level 1 shield that can reach up to level 5. The shield absorbs 98% of the incoming damage by exchanging mana for it. It also gives up to 300 bonus mana and 3.2 damage per mana point. The shield will also absorb HP loss-type damage.
  • Stone Gaze lasts for 2.4s instead of 3s.

Alchemist

The last Dota 2 hero that received way more changes than the rest is Alchemist. Here’s an overview of all of his abilities.

  • Acid Spray

This thing now has a lower cast point, costs less mana has a lower duration and cooldown. Fortunately, it deals slightly more damage than before.

  • Unstable Concoction

This ability’s Max Stun Duration is down from 4s to 3.2s on level 4.

  • Greevil’s Greed

After the changes, this is now an innate ability that gives Alchemist 18 max bonus gold per kill on all levels, and the bounty rune multiplier is 2 instead of 3.

  • Corrosive Weaponry

This is the new basic passive ability that Alchemist will have access to. When the hero attacks, he applies a stacking debuff on enemies that reduce their movement speed and status resistance by up to 6% per stack. The ability does not affect Roshan or Buildings, it has up to 11 stacks, and each one lasts for 3.5s.

  • Chemical Rage

Finally, Alchemist’s ultimate now gives slightly more bonus HP regen than before.
