LA Thieves Win CDL Major 4 in New York

The Thieves come out on top in New York as the LA Thieves Win CDL Major 4.
The Call of Duty League has had one of its best years since its start in 2020. This year, the action has been incredible and the storylines even more so. LA Thieves took home the crown at Major 4 hosted by the New York Subliners, giving every Major and even every LAN event this year a different winner. Here’s how the Thieves got their first Major win of the year.
LA Thieves’ Road to Victory
The LA Thieves began their journey in Winners Round one against Atlanta FaZe. While LA had performed well in the online qualifiers, Atlanta FaZe always step it up on LAN, so many fans had already put this one down as an Atlanta FaZe victory. However, LA Thieves looked unbelievable. Envoy was dominant, and LAT came out with a 3-1 victory, advancing to Winners Round two.
Here, it was easy for the Thieves, breezing past Toronto Ultra 3-0, moving on to face the hosts, New York Subliners in the Winners Finals. This is where things turned, with New York dominating the Hardpoints and sending LAT to the losers bracket in a 3-1 defeat. A rematch against Atlanta FaZe was next for the Thieves, and here Kenny put on some of his best gameplay of the year with a 1.17 overall K/D in this series as LA won 3-1 and advanced to the Grand Finals.
The Grand Finals truly went as expected, with the map three Berlin Control being the turning point. New York started hot, taking Bocage Hardpoint and Desert Siege Search and Destroy, however, both maps were fairly close. Map three was where the Thieves turned it around, sweeping New York in a 3-0 Berlin Control, before going on to win the following Berlin Hardpoint too. The Subliners bounced back with a Bocage Search and Destroy win to tie the series, however, the final three maps went the way of the LA Thieves as they claimed their first championship of the year.
We now look ahead to the Championship weekend in Los Angeles, where the top eight teams will compete. With us having a different winner of every LAN this year, does this setup FaZe perfectly for a Champs victory?
