Dr Disrespect Permanently Banned On Twitch

A famous Twitch icon has received a channel ban from Twitch.

Herschel “Dr Disrespect” Beahm IV has been banned on Twitch today for an unknown reason. The news first broke via esports insider Rod “Slasher” Breslau on Twitter. Details are sparse at this point, but Slasher states that this was not due to a DMCA violation.

A former SledgeHammer Games community manager, DrDisrespect embarked on a journey to become a popular streamer and entertainer. He joined Twitch in 2013 and quickly rose through the ranks on the Internet’s most popular streaming platform. Dubbed the two-time, DrDisrespect made a career for himself, mainly streaming Battle Royale games like Fortnite, H1Z1, PlayerUnknown’s BattleGround, and most recently, Call of Duty: Warzone.

The Doc has had run-ins with controversy before. He was banned from E3 2019 for streaming IRL in a public bathroom with his cameraman. This incident led Twitch to ban him temporarily from their platform. However, this situation seems much more serious and it could very well mean the end of DrDisrespect on Twitch.

Dr Disrespect last streamed on June 25, where he continued his expedition to become a top controller player in Warzone. Navigating to Doc’s Twitch channel returns a message stating, “Sorry. Unless you’ve got a time machine, that content is unavailable.”

Twitch released a statement in regards to the ban to select media members. One of which, Zach Bussey, shared the statement in a tweet earlier today.

"As is our process, we take appropriate action when we have evidence that a streamer has acted in violation of our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service. These apply to all streamers regardless of status or prominence in the community."

Slasher, who originally broke the story of Dr Disrespect’s banning, added some tidbits of information. All of Dr Disrespect’s Twitch subscriptions have been refunded. The 38-year-old streamer also is no longer partnered with Discord. He also pointed out that the wife of Dr Disrespect addressed the situation in a vague manner on Instagram. The statement reads:

“The outpouring of love, support, strength and kindness from the arena has truly been overwhelming. You all have made my heart full and I can not thank you enough. No one out there better than the CC. You guys are amazing! Much love to you to all.”

In a follow-up tweet, Slasher admitted that he is aware of the reasoning behind DrDisrespect’s ban. However, he will not speak on it due to “the importance and severity around the subject.”

UPDATE #2

A clip surfaced, depicting the closing moments of Dr Disrespect’s final stream before Twitch banned him. He speaks on a variety of topics, one of which included a documentary about English conspiracy theorist David Icke. Doc then put on a YouTube video showcasing gameplay from a Roblox hide-and-seek game. The former Twitch personality then catapults into an odd monologue, stating:

“David Icke, I ordered his book too. I appreciate everyone watching today. We’ll get through this champions club. Life’s weird right now. We’ll get through this, okay? And uh, f*ck.”

What appears to be his final Twitch stream then went off the air. All of the events outlined above followed shortly after. There is still no clear indication as to why Dr Disrespect received a permanent ban from Twitch. We have linked the bizarre video from Doc’s final stream below.

Update #3

Finally, Dr Disrespect himself addressed the ban to his community. Unfortunately, there is no indication of the reasoning behind his ban.
