Symfuhny Allows NRG Contract To Expire, Declares Free Agency

Prolific streamer Symfuhny is now a free agent after leaving NRG Esports.

Mason “Symfuhny” Lanier announced his free-agency as a streamer, content creator and dominant Call of Duty: Warzone player earlier today. The 20-year-old spent the last year and a half under the NRG Esports banner, competing in many games both competitively and casually. Most will recognize Symfuhny for his time playing Fortnite: Battle Royale from 2018 until the end of 2019. As he nears 1M subscribers on YouTube, Symfuhny is now a free agent open to offers from esports organizations.

Symfuhny's Contract Expires

In a tweet posted earlier today, Symfuhny bid farewell to the #NRGFAM with a statement announcing that he is no longer part of the organization.

“Yesterday was the final day of my contract with NRG. Thanks so much to everyone at the org for the last 18 months. I learned and grew so much in that time, however I've decided to let my contract run out and take my time to decide on my next move. Nothing but love for the #NRGFAM”

Although Symfuhny could technically re-sign with NRG, it appears that he is testing the market to see what offers are out there for him.

Symfuhny's Rise to Stardom

Under the NRG banner, Symfuhny became a popular streamer for both Fortnite: Battle Royale and Call of Duty: Warzone. A lifelong Battle Royale player, the 20-year-old first made a name for himself on YouTube in the H1Z1 community. He then moved into Fortnite, where his views increased significantly.

Although he never committed to Fortnite as a competitive player, Symfuhny amassed quite the tournaments' resumè. He and multiple-time Fortnite champion and former NRG teammate Williams “Zayt” Aubin achieved back-to-back third-place finishes during the 2018 Summer Skirmish.

Despite his status as a content creator, Symfuhny committed to the Season X Fortnite Champion Series alongside pro players Slackes and Reverse2k. This trio reached the Grand Finals and finished in ninth place. Symfuhny collaborated with the likes of Turner “Tfue” Tenney and Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, amongst many others. Before long, Symfuhny moved away from Fortnite in favor of a new Battle Royale and never looked back.

100T Content House and Call of Duty: Warzone Success

For the COVID-19 pandemic duration, Symfuhny has spent his time in the 100 Thieves Content House in California with his girlfriend BrookeAB. Since then, Symfuhny has ascended to the ranks in Call of Duty: Warzone with five tournament wins to his credit. He and duo partner HusKerrs have become one of the most dominant tandems in Warzone. In fact, so dominant that both fans and pro players believed that Symfuhny has been cheating all along.

100T Symfuhny?

From Fortnite to Warzone, Symfuhny has been a dedicated streamer, content creator and pseudo competitive player. Many are wondering where he will land after declaring free agency. The obvious guess would be 100 Thieves, considering his relationship with content creator BrookeAB and friendship with CEO Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag.

Symfuhny already lives in the 100T Content House, and it would make perfect sense for him to join the organization. To date, the multiple-time Warzone champion has 800K Twitter followers, nearly 900K YouTube subscribers and 2.4 million followers on Twitch. With those numbers, any organization would be willing to offer Symfuhny a deal. However, only time will tell where Symfuhny lands.
