Tarik joins Sentinels as Content Creator and Valorant Pro

The Sentinels are now shrouded with even more star power as Tarik joins the squad.

Popular streamer and former CS:GO pro, Tarik “tarik” Celik has announced he's teaming up with Sentinels as a content creator.

From EG To SEN

Tarik previously played CS:GO for Evil Geniuses for nearly two years. His last tournament with the organization was in late 2020. He stepped down from Evil Geniuses' active roster in early 2021 to focus on content creation and streaming. He officially left Evil Genuises in January of this year.

Tarik has since become one of the most popular Valorant streamers on Twitch. During the VCT NA Last Chance Qualifiers, Tarik's stream often had equal or better viewership numbers than the official Valorant Twitch channel. You could say that the transition has paid off. And it looks like he's taking his Valorant streaming to the next level, as he's joining one of the most notable NA organizations in Valorant, the Sentinels, as a content creator.

Just A Content Creator?

The Sentinels released a short three-minute video interview of Tarik after his joining the organization was made public. Tarik stated that he viewed joining an organization as an opportunity to elevate his brand and work with like-minded players in the space.

But the question on everyone's minds was whether or not Tarik would ever slot himself onto the active Valorant roster. Many CS:Go pro players have transitioned into the world of Valorant. As skilled as Tarik is, it's more than plausible for him to do the same.

Initially, it seemed like Tarik would only be a content creator. But after some recent Sentinels news, it looks like Tarik is strapping back on his pro boots.

Tarik A Pro Once More?

Two of the most exciting roster changes in the world of Valorant in 2022 were Shroud and Zellsis joining the Sentinels for the VCT NA Last Chance Qualifiers. Shroud is sticking around, but it turns out that Zellsis isn't. That leaves an empty slot on Sentinels' roster. A recent tweet by the Sentinels Twitter account makes it seem like Tarik will be filling that slot.

Valorant's Most Popular Franchise?

A record number of viewers tuned in to watch the debut of Shroud and Zellsis as members of the Sentinels during the VCT NA Last Chance Qualifiers. Matches featuring the Sentinels drew in significantly more viewers than any other matches. While Zellsis is gone, an even bigger name has replaced him. With Shroud and Tarik on the squad, the Sentinels have solidified their position as the most popular Valorant team in the NA region.

With 2023 marking the debut of franchise Valorant, it will be interesting to see what happens with the Sentinels. Despite starting 2022 as one of the top Valorant teams in the power rankings, the Sentinels had a pretty terrible season this year. With another franchise player added to the mix, we'll have to wait and see if the Sentinels can redeem themselves next year.
