Capcom Spotlight 9.3.2023 Summary

Here is our Summary of the latest Capcom Spotlight!

The latest Capcom Spotlight just aired, here is a neat and condensed version of everything you need to know. From a Resident Evil 4 Remake Demo to the return of a Capcom classic!

Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection

The Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection is coming soon! And it'll include the entire series, as well as a fully functional online mode.

If you don't know about Mega Man Battle Network, it was a series of Tactical RPGs set in the Mega Man franchise. Think Pokemon, but you can equip only one Pokemon. MegaMan.EXE and the game features a linear story, the later entries were extremely popular thanks to its solid PvP.

The complete Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection will include all 6 games, as well as their variations with functional online for games 4-6. You'll also be able to purchase them in separate packages, with Part 1 including the original trilogy and Part 3 the more multiplayer-focused games.

Coming April 14, 2023, the Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection will release on Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Street Fighter 6

There wasn't much to the Street Fighter 6 section of the Capcom Spotlight. During Sony's State of Play, we've already seen three more characters join the roster. But Street Fighter 6 promises to be the biggest title in the series yet. With a focus on content that isn't just 1 on 1, Player vs Player duels.

Street Fighter 6 will feature a World Tour mode, which lets you explore the world of Street Fighter as your own character. You can complete various challenges, play minigames and learn from the legendary cast of Street Fighter how to fight.

The game will also feature Japanese drama actress Hikaru Takahashi as a commentator. Plus, commentators will have a cheer mode, that'll not just give you tournament-level play-by-play but also cheer you on.

Street Fighter 6 releases June 2, 2023, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Capcom Pro Tour 2023

Capcom Cup X will also start in the summer of this year. And it will feature Street Fighter 6! The 2023 season of Capcom Pro Tour is expected to begin this summer and will be comprised of offline, online, and the regional World Warrior program.

Exoprimal

There was also the new trailer for Capcom's upcoming team-based shooter Exoprimal. Players will compete in teams against other teams while competing for objectives. Also, they're fighting each other and endless hordes of dinosaurs.

Here players will be able to equip a multitude of exosuits that all come with their own designs and gameplay gimmicks. The game looks like a mix of Earth Defense Force, Lost Planet, and Monster Hunter. And there is honestly nothing about I don't love.

If you want to check it out, there'll be an open Beta from March 17 to March 19. You can check out all the details here! The game is set to release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on July 14, 2023.

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective was one of the greatest titles to be released on the Nintendo DS. Created by Shu Takumi, the creator of Ace Attorney, you can already guess that it was brimming with personality.

In Ghost Trick, you take on the role of Sissel, an amnesiac ghost who needs to figure out the circumstances of his unaliveness. Gameplay consists of solving puzzles by inhabiting objects of the deceased. Honestly just take a look at it and take my word, it's an all-time classic.

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective releases on 30 June 2023 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak

On April 28, Monster Hunter Rise's expansion, Sunbreak, will release for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. This release comes will all the new content owners of the Switch and PC versions can already enjoy. And will include everything up to the Free Update 3.

For owners of the Switch and PC versions, you'll have to wait a little longer. But the news for the Free Update 5 will arrive in April of 2023.

Resident Evil: Death Island

The new Resident Evil CGI movie will also arrive later this year. We don't know on which platforms it'll be available. But here's the plot synopsis:

D.S.O. agent Leon S. Kennedy is on a mission to rescue Dr. Antonio Taylor from kidnappers, when a mysterious woman thwarts his pursuit. Meanwhile, B.S.A.A. agent Chris Redfield is investigating a zombie outbreak in San Francisco, where the cause of the infection cannot be identified.

The only thing the victims have in common is that they all visited Alcatraz Island recently. Following that clue, Chris and his team head to the island, where a new horror awaits them.

The movie is set after the events of Resident Evil 6 and the Resident Evil: Vendetta movie from 2017. The CGI RE movies are pretty fun to watch and we highly recommend you check them out.

Resident Evil 4 Remake + Demo

Just a little longer and the Resident Evil 4 Remake will finally hit store shelves. While there is no new trailer out yet. Capcom has something better for you: A no Time Limit Demo. The Chainsaw Demo.

The Chainsaw Demo lets you play the first section of Resident Evil 4 Remake, the Village encounter, and asks you to simply survive till the bell tolls. And who knows, maybe you'll even be rewarded with a special something at the end.

The demo is available now for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Steam, and Xbox X/S. And the full game will release on March 24. Look forward to our review!
