WoW: Shadowlands Season 4 Mythic+ Tier List

With S4 out, it’s time to take a look at the tier list for Season 4 Mythic+.

Patch 9.0 and its meta might have been one of the longest we’ve ever had in WoW. While the 9.1 will change, despite some big nerfs to top specs, we’re unlikely to see the monumental meta shift that some people might have hoped we’d see.

Note: This list was made pre-Season 2. This list will update once we have more data from the live testing of the patch. Everything here is based on research across communities and personal testing, though as always, all classes are viable, and you should play what you enjoy.

Shadowlands Season 4 Mythic+ DPS Tier List

A Closer Look

Ranged DPS:

It’s going to be a decent season for the ranged specs again. While melee has 3 picks in the S tier, ranged DPS feature more in A tier, making ranged the more consistent options across all group compositions. The key takeaway is that despite a few nerfs Fire Mage is still king of the Mythic+ scene as far as ranged DPS goes. Arcane and Frost meanwhile do a good job of holding their own, however, so if you like to play M+ and raiding on one spec, maybe look towards those specs.

Elsewhere, Elemental Shaman will have another good season, while Marksman looks set to make up for some lacking raid DPS by being a strong contender in Mythic+ thanks to its sustained damage and burst. Shadow Priest is likely going to be another strong pickup, especially for Tyrannical weeks when sustained single target damage is the key to success.

Melee DPS:

It’s a tale of two halves for melee in Season 2. Windwalker, Combat, and Havoc are likely to be far and away the best three melee specs for Season 2. The problem comes when you go a little further down the tier list, as melee starts to struggle. Unholy, one of the best specs in Season 1 has tumbled down the tier list for Season 2, while Warriors, Paladin’s, and the other Rogue specs just can’t keep up. While we’ve put it at B tier (the lowest we go) many other tier lists have put Feral Druid much lower than that. Sadly, the spec continues to get very little love from Blizzard and Season 2 looks set to be another slog for the Cat’s.
