WoW Dragonflight 10.1 Patch Notes

Blizzard has posted the final  Dragonflight 10.1 patch notes.

WoW Dragonflight patch 10.1 is here, and it's filled with new content. You can find the key highlights below, with a link to the full class changes at the end.

What's coming in Dragonflight 10.1

  • Expanded story
  • Cross-Faction guilds
  • New faction
  • More weekly content
  • New Raid
  • New Tier sets
  • Season 2 of M+ and PvP
  • New Public events
  • Class Changes
  • Much more

Expanded Story

Launching on May 2nd (3rd for EU), patch 10.1 is dropping a lot of content right out of the blocks. Firstly, we'll see the Dragonflight story expanding on, as we learn more about the Dragon Isles and its inhabitants. Specifically, in 10.1 we'll also learn a lot more about Neltharion and what he was up to on the Dragon Isles.

Cross-Faction Guilds

A feature that has been long requested by the community is finally coming in 10.1. We got a glimpse of more cross-faction content in Dragonflight with cross-faction groups. Now, in 10.1, we'll see the feature fully fleshed out. With the way the WoW story is going these days, the faction “conflict” has been on the back burner for at least two entire expansions at this point. Plus, it honestly has so little impact on the wider game if an Orc and a Human are in the same guild. Especially for players who have War Mode turned off as it is, where they don't even have any world conflict with the opposite faction as it is.

New Faction – Loamm Niffen

Everyone loves a reputation grind, and 10.1 has a new one for everyone. A new race of mole-like creatures needs our help in the Zaralek Cavern, which now has a rather large tunnel burrowed into it from above ground. You can find out more about said tunnel in the 10.1 Cinematic, though it does contain spoilers for 10.1 if you'd rather wait.

More weekly activities

We all love activities, so why not look forward to more of them in 10.1. Sniffenseking and Snail Racing will join the World Quest rotation as more “unique” options. Basically, it's the Zaralek Cavern's equivalent of Dragon Riding.

Aberrus, The Shadowed Crucible raid opens

A new patch brings a new raid, and it's another simultaneous release for all 3 (not LFR) difficulties. It was tested on Dragonflight's launch, and it looks like Blizzard is happy with how it went. You can check out our Boss guide for the raid here (link being updated as we get more PTR testing)

New Tier Sets

New raids, means new tier sets and 10.1 brings us an entirely new set. It looks like once again, Blizzard is (for the most part) avoiding Tier Sets that force you into a specific build. At least, based on some early changes, it looks like that will be the case. You can see the full list of 10.1 tier sets and their appearance, with the article being updated weekly.

Season 2 – new PvP and Mythic+

We'll also see a new season of both PvP and Mythic+ with the release of Dragonflight Season 2. PvP will see the normal host of balance tweaks and changes, while M+ will see the addition of new affixes and the removal of others.

New Public Events

The final major thing will be a new wave of public events, similar to what we have now with the elemental invasion. This time, however, it'll see Fyrakk Assaults across the map as the Dragon Aspect looks to cause havoc across the Dragon Isles.

Dragonflight patch 10.1 comes out in the first week of May, with the raid content and Season 2 coming the week after. For more information, keep an eye on our WoW section closer to the launch.
