Apex Legends: Team Empire Gets Replaced by AYM Esports At ALGS

After being unable to secure their visas to travel to the United States for the Apex Legends event, the Russian Esports team, Team Empire, got replaced by the Spanish organization AYM Esports.

Due to sanctions issued by the United States against Russian citizens, Team Empire players Denis “cleaveee” Rassokhin, Kirill' Ranchees' Rulinwere, and Alexey “Maliwan” Rusinov were denied visas to enter US for the event. The denial of their visas ended their dreams of competing on the grounds of PNC Arena for the World Champion spot.

Element 6 Content Creator fills in for Russian squadmate

AYM's Apex team had already applied for their U.S. visas in advance in hopes of securing Team Empire's spot at the championship, which they did. The announcement was made just a few days ago as AYM Esports entered the competitive Apex scene by signing K1CK clan's roster. Team Empire amassed a massive fan following after their aggressive in-game performance at the preceding Stockholm Qualifiers, and were all set to compete for the main event until failing to obtain their visas.

AYM Esports had to call in Element 6 content creator Nils “Gerovic12” Bode to fill in for Svyatoslav “ojrein” Korochinsky, a Russian national and AYM Apex pro who would also face a tough time obtaining a U.S visa.

The Biggest Apex Legends Event of the year' is set to commence on July 7, with the finals scheduled to take place on July 10. With a 2m Prize and over 40 teams set to compete, the event will be held at PNC Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA. Apex fans can view the full schedule for the major Esports event here.
