Apex Legends : DarkZero Picks up Former Reignite Roster

American Esports Organization DarkZero has entered the Apex Legends scene by signing former players of Reignite, winners of Stage 2 Playoffs at ALGS.

The Australian three-member roster, consisting of Noyan “Genburten” Ozkose, Zer0 “Rhys” Perry, and Rick “Sharky” Width, parted ways with their previous organization Reignite Esports, right after scoring a Stage 2 playoff victory at ALGS. With Valorant and Rainbow Six Siege teams, this is the first time DarkZero Esports entered the competitive Apex Legends by signing the Australian trio. This is, however, not the first time a North American organization has signed players of a different region, as the ALGS playoff winner's previous organization, Reignite, was based in Japan.

An American organization, DarkZero, will make it easier for the trio to get North American visas and will, in turn, open up a slew of new opportunities for them in the world of Apex esports. “Genburten” Ozkose has also spoken up about the team's plans to move to the United States, in hopes of better internet connectivity, and, a host of other opportunities and exposure.

After their stunning victory at the Stockholm LAN, Reignite's previously ‘slept-on' roster shocked millions of Apex esports watchers around the globe. On the other hand, Rhys “Zer0” Perry's performance earned him the title of the Tournament MVP. Besides gaining an immense amount of buzz from the Apex Esports community and millions of fans, the team of three took home a cash prize of $250,000. With a new organization under their belt, it remains to be seen what the team can achieve at the premier Apex Legends event slated for July 7. With 40 teams set to compete at the biggest Apex Legends tournament in the world, we look to forward to seeing the trio defend their Split 2 title at the championship.
