Version1 Bids Farewell to Katarina

Version1 is bidding farewell to one of its longstanding members as Katarina announces her departure

Katarina formerly played for the Version1 GC team and has been a part of the org since March 2022. The 22-year-old helped the team qualify for most of the significant game changers events last season.

Version1 announced the departure of Katarina with a tweet from their official Twitter handle. “From dominating in VCT Gamechangers to having incredible streams,” the tweet said. “Thank you, katarinafps for your hard work and all you have done for Version1.”

The Malay American herself then took to Twitter and thanked her former org for the opportunity while expressing excitement regarding her future. “I want to take a moment to thank V1 for giving me the chance to get into professional play,” she wrote. “While I'm sad to be leaving, I'm excited to see where this journey takes me!”

Katarina’s time with the VersionX team was reasonably successful. The team qualified for almost all the major regional game-changers events. However, they got eliminated in the early stages of the those events, failing to perform at the big moments. With the roster overhaul by V1 at the beginning of this season, most of the former squad got released, while Katarina was declared an unrestricted free agent.

Not only has Katarina been a professional player, but she has also become a household name in the gaming community, boasting a massive following of 140k on Twitch and averaging an impressive 1.5k concurrent viewers. Her engaging personality and exceptional gaming skills have earned her a devoted fanbase and cemented her status as one of the biggest streamers in the GC scene. As she departs from Version1, it remains to be seen where her career will take her next.
