Overwatch 2: The Heroes With the Lowest Pick Rate in Season 3

The lowest picked heroes so far in Overwatch 2 Season 3.

The Overwatch 2 Season 3 has been live for several weeks now, which means that most players got used to the changes. Speaking of the devil, we’ve covered everything in this article, so make sure to check it if you haven’t had the chance to play yet.

After covering some of the top heroes and those that stand out, it is high time to pay attention to some of the Overwatch 2 Season 3 underdogs. We expected some of the names you’re about to see here to change once the mid-season update rolls out. With that said, let’s go over the Overwatch 2 heroes with the lowest pick rate right now.

Sombra

balance Overwatch hero Sombra holds a purple sphere of energy.

At the time of writing this article, Sombra is the least popular Overwatch 2 hero in the game. With an abysmal win rate of just 44% and a pick rate of 0.73%, this hero could be better in the current meta. Some people have tried playing with hero, but she’s just not as good as other popular options.

What’s interesting is that Sombra was among the few Overwatch 2 DPS heroes that received some buffs after Season 3’s arrival. The hero’s Machine Pistol now deals 7.5 damage instead of 7, and her Health Pack hacks now lasts for 45s instead of the 30s. We expected these changes to “revive” the hero, but it seems like this isn’t the case.

People who played with Sombra a few seasons ago probably remember she was one of the best heroes in the game. Sadly, the numerous nerfs she received after that have pretty much “killed” her.

Echo

DPS Hero Changes Echo Overwatch

This is probably not a hero you’ve expected to see here, but the stats reveal that Echo is the second-least popular hero in the game right now. It’s important to remember that this data covers all skill brackets, so there might be some differences in some of them.

Unlike Sombra, Echo didn’t receive any big changes in Season 3. The hero remains pretty much the same as in Seasons 1 and 2, which is not bad because she can work really well in some setups. However, we didn’t get to see her in the game that much because heroes like Widowmaker were incredibly popular, and they could easily counter her.

According to the stats, Echo has a 0.97% pick rate this month and an almost 48% win rate. Her stats are definitely more impressive than Sombra’s, but she is not the go-to DPS in the current meta.

Symmetra

The agility hero Symmetra from Blizzard's Overwatch franchise

The third name on the list is yet another DPS hero. We talked about Symmetra a few days ago and mentioned the fact that she’s in a weird spot in the meta. On the one hand, she can work really well in some setups, and she has the win rate to back it up. According ot the data, she had almost a 55% win rate in February, making her one of the most successful heroes in Overwatch 2 Season 3.

With that said, Symmetra’s pick rate is only 1.21%, which is one of the lowest in the game. One of the big reasons for it is the fact that she’s only good in specific setups. Another important thing to know is that Symmetra is a hero that isn’t easy to master, so many low-ranked players have no idea how to make the most of her.

It will be really interesting to see Symmetra’s progression in the current meta because the hero’s win rate is exceptional. Once players find a way to use her more efficiently, we think we’ll see a lot more from her.

Doomfist

doomfirstAfter talking about the DPS, the next name on the list is an Overwatch 2 Season 3 tank that is just not as good as they st right now. Doomfirst is one of the most interesting tanks in the game because he was a DPS in the game’s previous version. Once OW 2 arrived, he became a tank and was extremely popular in early Season 2.

The bad news is that his reign didn’t last long because the hero felt too strong. Unsurprisingly, Blizzard decided to nerf him, which is why he isn’t a part of the meta anymore.

Despite the Overwatch 2 Season 3 changes, Doomfirst remains the least popular tank in the game with a 1.123% pick rate. Interestingly, he has around a 50% win rate, which is much better than some of the other options on the list.

Zarya

Zarya

Speaking of tanks and Overwatch 2 Season 3, we have to mention Zarya. Even though she is one of the best tanks when it comes down to countering some of the top heroes in the meta, Zarya is just not as popular as others. With a 1.27% pick rate, she is the second-least popular hero in her role.

One of the things we found interesting was that Zarya’s win rate is around 43%, making her the worst hero in Overwatch 2 right now, at least according to the stats. To be fair, she is not the easiest hero to master, which is probably one of the reasons for her abysmal win rate.

Mei

The next name on the list is for another DPS, but this time, it’s a hero that hasn’t been a meta pick in Overwatch 2 yet. Mei was among the heroes that received substantial changes after the game became available, but even those things weren’t enough to put her “in the game”.

At the time of writing this article, Mei has around a 50% win rate and a 1.28% pick rate. Even though her stats don’t seem bad, she is among the least popular heroes in Overwatch 2.

Honorable mentions

Aside from all of the heroes mentioned so far, we also have to include Junker Queen, Roadhog, and Torb. As for support, Brigitte is actually the least-popular hero in the game right now, which is really strange, considering her impressive 54% win rate. She got multiple buffs recently that made her even stronger.
